Hey God, I’ve Got Some Guy Named Jonah in My Stomach…& A Giveaway

I recently came across one of the most charming children’s books I’ve ever seen. I’m delighted to participate in the book’s release day celebration today and to be able to offer a free copy to one lucky visitor (more at the end of the post).

coverWhen I read the title of this book, I started smiling and didn’t stop till long after I had finished the last page.

We have all heard stories of Jonah and the Whale at some time in our lives. But, you’ve never heard one quite like this. In this delightful book we get to hear the whale’s side of the story.

The whale tells how God told him to swallow Jonah, but he refused because humans taste like dirt. However, before he knew it he had swallowed Jonah and couldn’t get rid of him. The whale goes on to explain what happened while Jonah was in his stomach and how he came to throw Jonah up on the shore after three days.

Author Troy Schmidt does a wonderful job explaining the story in such a way youngsters will never forget. Schmidt blends the elements of trust, obedience and understanding into an inspiring message. The whale, as well as Jonah, learned from the experience.

Youngsters will be enchanted by the book’s beautiful illustrations by Cory Jones. The images will capture the attention of readers (of all ages) and make them eager to see what happens next.

Hey God, I've Got Some Guy Named Jonah in My Stomach and I Think I'm Gonna Throw Up is a fun way for youngsters to learn one of the many lessons from the Bible. This book will have you smiling as soon as you pick it up. A great reference tool for a youngster’s library or youth Sunday School class. Schmidt puts a new twist on a popular Bible story that will entertain and inspire youngsters to learn more.

The book is geared toward youngsters ages 4 to 8, but will delight readers of all ages. The book also includes a ‘Parent Connection’ feature that will help guardians expand on the story further with scripture references and tips on how to discuss what really happened with their youngsters.

This inspiring book is the first installment in a series. Other books available include: Hey God, Can You Stop the Rain so I Can Get off Noah's Smelly Ark? and Hey God, I'm Having an Awful Vacation in Egypt Thanks to Moses!
